8/19/10 Third Quarter Report
Welcome to the 28th Annual Red Knights Convention. If this is your first Convention, this is an opportunity to meet members of other Chapter and Officers of the International Executive Board. We all have something in common, as Firefighters and Motor cycle Enthusiasts. However, you will find most of the members out in the parking lot kicking tires and telling tales about the great trips they have taken or the near miss on the way to the Convention. If this is your tenth plus Convention, you will find those people in the bar trying to figure out how to mess with Executive Board!
My job as International Vice President is to represent the Executive Board to the Members at Large and vote on all issues that comes before the Board. It is rather an easy job compared to other positions on the Board. I frequently pass along tough problems to the International Secretary as in most cases, he is aware of particular problems.
During my term in office, the first year, (2008-2009) I processed 58 new member applications and this last year, (2009-2010) I processed 72 applications. I might add that all but two applications were accepted. We also set up a Pay Pal account for paying dues. I attended at all the of the Executive Board meetings with the exception of this last April’s meeting. I was excused because I was in the Hospital with a shattered Femur.
The Vice President is also the Co-signer for financial matter of the Club. I did not necessarily vote yes on all items but voted for what I felt was for the greater good of the Club. (Sounds political!) I also assisted in presenting procedures for the Annual Banquet program and it was put in the SOG’s.
For the Members at Large in attendance at this Convention, we will have a brief meeting on Friday evening to elect a Rep. to vote at the general meeting also discuss any applicable topics. Enjoy the Convention and we hope it excites you enough to return at next year’s Convention.
